Automobile Logistics

HomeAutomobile Logistics

That solution is Container Shipping. With Alonso Autologix a Specially Designed Car Loading Cassettes Based Shipping Solution, in association with Kar-Tainer International (a patented Car Loading Cassette Manufacturer and Supplier) it becomes the superior choice for modern automotive logistics.

Containerised Shipping Solution for Automobiles

The global movement of automobiles often relies on Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) vessels for large-volume ocean transport. While Ro-Ro is ideal for big batches, there are critical
scenarios where a more flexible, secure, and globally-reaching solution is required.

When to Choose Cars in Container Over Ro-Ro?

You should opt for container shipping when you need greater destination flexibility, enhanced protection, and shipping smaller volumes of vehicles. Our specialized solution involves loading one or more cars into standard 20-foot or 40-foot shipping containers, which are then loaded onto regular container vessels.

Destination Flexibility

  • Container ships call at a much wider range of ports globally than specialized Ro-Ro vessels. This significantly expands your reach, allowing you to access markets and ports where Ro-Ro service is unavailable

Smaller Volumes

  • If you need to ship just a few CBU cars to a particular market, send prototypes, or move evaluation models or SKD or CKD or White Body, using a container is more practical and cost-effective than chartering dedicated Ro-Ro space.

Enhanced Protection

  • Inside a sealed, steel container, vehicles are completely protected from the elements, salt spray, potential transit damage, and prying eyes. This makes it the ideal solution for highvalue, special-order, or exotic vehicles.

Intermodal Transport

  • Containers are the backbone of global logistics and can be easily transferred between ships, trucks, and trains. This multi-model flexibility ensures a smoother, more direct door-to-door delivery, especially for inland and final-mile destinations.

The Alonso Autologix Cassette System: Advantages

The traditional method of loading cars into containers is often labour-intensive, timeconsuming, and expensive per unit. Our Specialised Car Loading Cassette System completely eliminates these drawbacks, making container shipping an attractive and effective alternative for manufacturers.

Revolutionizing Loading Speed and Density

Feature Traditional Ro Ro Shipping Alonso Autologix Cassette System
Loading Time Significant time and labor per vehicle Just 5 minutes to load a car in a container
Vehicle Density Limited, often costly per unit Load 2 to 4 cars per 40’ container (based on size/model)
Flexibility Rigid loading procedures Allows for mixed sizes and models

Reduced Handling = Lower Risk

A major advantage of our system is the drastically reduced number of times a vehicle is physically handled, which is the primary cause of damage in transit.

  • Ro-Ro (8 Handling Touches): From factory, onto long-haul transport, unloading at port storage, loading onto Ro-Ro vessel, unloading at discharge port, onto long-haul transport, unloading at distributor yard, and final drive to dealer compound.

  • Cars in Container (2 Handling Touches): Loading the car into the container at the production line and unloading at the dealer compound.

Fewer touches mean lower risk and less potential for direct product damage

Comprehensive End-to-End Solutions

We have long-standing partnerships and volume agreements with leading container shipping lines. This allows us to offer the widest choice of services, routes, and solutions for your Finished Car (CBU) and Semi or Complete Knocked-Down (SKD/CKD) vehicle movements.
